Garbage in Goodwill Grab bags

I ordered a 40.00 6 lb grab bag from Goodwill that I paid over 10.00 shipping. I had to throw it all in the garbage.

I won another auction that I paid over 140.00 plus over 10.00 shipping and handling costs, plus tax. After 2 hours of detangling, I found 2 Monet pieces plus a vintage bracelet. The rest of the jewelry went in the garbage. The employees put rusty, broken pieces of jewelry that anyone else would have thrown away.

One beaded necklace was so sticky other jewelry stuck to it. I am a reseller and was hoping to get something I could resell online. I paid over 200.00 for garbage. I will never order anything from Goodwill.

You have no respect for other people. You should be ashamed to send boxes of garbage to customers. You only care about making money.

Stupid because if someone did get get a nice box of jewelry they would tell others and Greedy Goodwill would sell more jewelry. Not a fan, no longer a customer.

When I got to the goodwill store today like I do every Sunday a worker walked up to me an asked me to look at a picture on her phone an said its this you I was like umm yah I think so she ok your banned from the store shocked an unsure why or what was happening I ask what why ? The worker which name is Rebecca said I dont no I just got the picture from my boss an she said your banned I thought for a second an was like really ok I think I no why but surly just cuz I spoke up when another worker the following Sunday for today January 28 th I was also at same store an was over charged by the same lady who has done this to me more than 3 times an I had to get rebursted the money the lady over charges me same lady everytime so I went to manifest who I guess is also Rebecca you can she she mad an aggravated with my present , she becomes rude an huffing and puffing when refunding my money then she after looking in my bags 3 times looking in an taking out the clothes 3 times an check n it but she gave me only 4$ I asked what she reburst she said the wood I done, but I never had I said what about the 3 charges for men pants when I only got two she yelled you said you had two pair of jeans I said yah she says am a pair of slacks I said no two pair mens pants altogether she huffs an mumbling being at this time she very aggravated an being very rude an unprofessional but I understood she was agitated but then she gave me the money for the pants an pretty much tosted it at me after picking it up I said as I was reenburst my money an everything was fine beside the very rude uncomfortable unprofessionalism I spoke up as I was walking out an said ITS YOUR *** JOB IF YOU HATE IT THAT MUCH *** QUIT IT DAMN .. thats all when to truck left good wil till today the next Sunday an 3 minutes of being inside I am told I am banned from this store I am a very regular customer and I definitely shop your store every Sunday for sure but no I am banned from this store an told she dont no the reason she was just sent a pic an told I was banned from her boss when I asked why she said she didnt no wasnt told y how can you banned someone from a store without a reasonings behind it to back it up I thought an thought maybe it was because of the job remarks I made to her last Sunday when here them I was like thats my opinion like could that really got me banned from the store ?? Really ?

Couple hours after be n home I decided to call the store which is Wilmington Ohio store both ladys involved where both named Rebecca ones a lead one a gm the gm was not there today to talk to me but after calling an speak n with Rebecca the one who walked up to me an told me the one who took my call when I asked how I could be banned from there lol like I didn't do anything she yells to me thought you new why thats what you said with a smile on ! I said no no no I might no what it could of been but I now no that is not at all why or what happened she yelled I dont no I wasnt told but what I am thinking surly would not of got me banned I mean legally anyway it was just an opinion of mine shes then says well if you would listen I think its return fraud ! RETURN FRAUD WHAT ?? What is that she didnt say just that that is what she was understanding was why I was banned her boss never said why just send her a picture of me an said banned so I am just so confused as to why I was treated so purely an put in this situation with this worker (Rebecca) who was obviously very angry at my presanance being there that just got worst with the return exchange am because I spoke my opinion as I was walking out because she couldnt hand me the money she tossed it at me I spoke up about her rudeness em everything about her was just unprofessional but to see my pic she obviously took with her phone of me walking out last Sunday after the fixing of the overcharges that has happened a LOT with the same cashier its happened 4 other time plus my husband once but how can I be banned from the store when I didnt do nothing crazy or bad to anyone or thing an also told by worker who had absolutely no clue as to why how is this possible an how is this profession an even legal?

This is a store I visit twice three time weekly I dont understand what I did an what evidence anyone has to prove anything I am accused of is even true I wasnt showed any paper work nothing just a pic of me on a strangers phone told I a banned leave an neve come back

Did this Rebecca manager banned me because of an opinion I had ? Id love some answers about this entire situation please

To speak To anyone that can help me out. I was accused of theft from in the mcminnville store.

When I have proof that it never happened they don't have cameras they said I took something from outside the donation area when I have proof and people that will vouch for me I didnt do it not to mention the guy that told on me is a paranoid schizophrenic that has tried to find me 15 times and since I wont fight him this is why he told you guys that because he doesnt like me and I wont fight him. And he likes to buy necklaces from you guys silver ones and so do I and he was getting mad because I was finding really cool necklaces that were making him jealous so he decided just to make up this lie and get me kicked out of my absolute favorite store that I go to almost every single day. Please help because this is not fair not dimension is it not fair but its not true and your manager lied to me and said she just got done watching me on her six camera angles you guys dont even have not one camera angle. And she didnt watch it on the camera.

She got told by a manic schizophrenic dude that was sitting outside and who doesnt like me and just decided to mess with me. Please call me otherwise Im just gonna go back into the store and make the cops deal with it and then Im gonna sue you guys for discrimination because this is ridiculous. All I wanna do is be able to go spend my money at your overpriced store. Please help!!

Your manager told me she was notified that I could come back that she would not let me even though she knows Im right she knows she lied to me about the cameras she knows about the guy that told on me being a manic schizophrenic and that he hates me she doesnt care she just for some reason I dont know why, but she doesnt like me. So she told me I had to have you guys either call her or write her and tell her it was OK for Kenny Willhite to come back to the store With his service dog. Yes, I have a 90 pound service dog hes a brown and white pitbull but hes the biggest teddy bear youll ever meet she tried to discriminate against me and not allow me and my service service dog whom yes is a certified service dog and I carry a prescription around with him everywhere she wouldnt let me in the store with my service dog so she discriminated against me twice and I really dont wanna have to go Contact my attorney but its getting to that point if Im not able to shop there again! Its my favorite store I live right next-door.

Im low income the only place I can afford clothes and shoes and stuff for me for and she has taken that ability away from me because she doesnt like me and if Im not allowed to go back Im just gonna contact my attorney and Im gonna sue the *** out of her for discrimination which Im sure is going to involve the store which I dont want to do to you guys but she is causing us to happen for something that I Didnt even do, please please help Im begging you please call me 971-372-**** or email me at KENNYW 3265@***.com.

Firstly I was under the impression that as a goodwill trademark or policy(not sure of what word to use here) they have a "tag sale" at all their stores every day. Well the one I visited that day although the products had the color coded tags the store claimed to not have that sale so I should look up online their coupons so I spent ten minutes trying to do that to no avail so finally they tell me just to scan the qr code at the register for Facebook or insta coupons so I do ...

then after three or four failed attempts they say oh there are no coupons today. So then I pay full price for all my items and lo and behold they double charged me for one of my dresses I take it back in and tell them and show them where on the receipt it showed same bar code twice they still insisted on wasting even more of my time to individually go through every item on my receipt (which by the way states there are no returns or refunds period even says this feature is available at other goodwill stores just not this one)one by one pulling them out of my bag and see that I was telling the truth and proceed in telling me that my only option is to receive store credit for something they messed up on!!! I never even had a choice in spending that money they took it from me then would not give it back!!! So I call goodwill corporate offices no answer do I leave a message with my phone number which I spoke clearly and even repeated it as to be heard and have not gotten even so much as a screw you lady!!!

I drove to the Goodwill closest to my home prior to the posted closing time on Google. I arrived 11mins before closing time.

I saw employees inside & a few customer at the register but the doors were locked. I waved & knocked and an employee sweeping came over so I asked to come inside to buy a shirt real quick for my daughter starting a new school in the morning. I explained the one that was delivered didnt fit her and I just needed to get that one thing which would be quick. It would have took me all of 5 mins to find a solid Blue or White Polo shirt on the rack since they organize them by color & size.

The lady said No they are closed already. I said it states online the stores close at 7pm so I still have 10mins and will only need 6 to grab one and pay. She said no sorry we are closed. I shouldnt have to go spend more money at a reg retail store cause they refused my service.

Ive already had to spend more than ever before cause my daughter was accepted last min to a new charter school in our areas and they wear school uniforms. I just needed a simple shirt to get her thru till her other clothes come in the mail the next day. There is no excuse the employee wouldnt allow me to grab a shirt when it was a reasonable request. If I was there to shop regularly I could understand.

There an organization that promotes helping others but yet they did not when I was in need. I will now have to use more gas, time driving another 20mins away, and pay 3xs more all cause I couldnt get a shirt they standardly have in every location when I go. I cant tell you how upset and disgusted I am over this I hope something is done about this so future people who drive there with a quick need doesnt go thru this in future. Stores always close at a specific time but should allow customers inside before that time comes.

If they lock there doors before the posted time it needs to be posted somewhere online so people dont show up to be turned away. I have never seen a store do this. I could have drove to another location the same distance from my home that wouldnt have behaved this way. I go there more often and have never seen them act this way toward a customer.

It is now 7:36pm and Im in the parking lot writing this review and the last 2 of the 5 employees are just leaving. That says they could have helped me out. Now Im left wasting my time, gas, and more money.

The time to write this counts too. This was unfair and inexcusable with their purpose being helping others.

I bought her some at kohls and they will be at my house on Wed. I now have to drive to other stores in hopes of finding another pair.

I counted gas, miles on my car, cost of clothes, & my time. I think $45 was fair.

Oh and my daughter wears an adult size so they definitely didn’t have any pants that price. I paid $29.99 for ever pair she got online.

Goodwill at 1704 2nd avenue. it was once a great place to shop now we call The place The ILL WILL Thrift Shop, the employees for the exception of one Jose look at us as intruders going to their place of work, interrupting their leisure time.

Great quality items are out on the floor. As customers you cannot look at them and you cannot touch them.

Theyre not for sale when you ask where they going the answers are very vague. Only on the first floor they have a bunch of Starbucks bottles broken items they would like for us to buy those items theres never a line, so I dont know how that Thrift Shop is making the quota, a real nightmare what was once a beautiful daydream

Lack of fitting rooms

To say that I am utterly baffled is an understatement... this is why:

I just left the store (without making a purchase) on 3106 N Shiloh Rd, Garland, TX 75044 after returning a half dozen pairs of jeans to the rack.

The reason I did not purchase those jeans was that THERE IS NO FITTING ROOM! Now, if the store had an exchange policy, I would have been ok with that. I could have taken them home, tried them on and exchanged the ones that did not fit. But no; because plastered all over the checkout counter are signs clearly stating NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES.

Would someone please explain the logic behind NOT HAVING FITTINGS ROOMS AND NOT ALLOWING EXCHANGES?

Make it make sense because this does not.

Just to put it in a perspective that I am sure y'all already understand... Jeans from different manufacturers all fit differently- a size 10 in one brand could easily be a size 12 in a different brand. The cut of the material differs as well so where one brand's size 10 might fit well in the waist but not the legs whereas a different brand's size 10 could be the exact opposite and a third brand may fit just right. But since there is no option to try them on, how is one supposed to know what fits and what does not?

And if one takes their chances and jeans don't fit, one has just wasted their money because they do not have the option to exchange them for something that does fit.

Why would someone buy clothing without trying it on or not be able to exchange it if it does not fit?

Again, make it make sense.

I realize I am just one person and the opinion of one person doesn't mean much.

But I will share this anyway: There are a lot of lower income families living in this area. Texas has a very high immigrant population and a lot of these people are just barely scraping by. (I live near a local food pantry and see the lines of these families waiting for assistance with groceries) These families need to make sure that what little money they do have is spent wisely. You have essentially just removed yourselves as a shopping option for these families.

Let me just say that I have shopped at that store for at least 20 years and am just dumbfounded by this ridiculousness.

Suffice it to say that after donating to the Goodwill for as long as I can remember, I won't be anymore.

Nor will I ever shop in any of your stores again.

Again, I realize I am just one person and that does not mean much. But I am sure the other thrift stores and resale shops in the area won't mind because that is where I will be spending my money.

The management here in carthage tx are very rude abd snobs they judge people and if the item you are donating isn't almost new they toas it in the trash out back and the prices are so high you mise will go to get it new . My friend I did autistic kid kind of an adult got a little trouble and had to do some community service she is gay she did the whole background check pay the $20 decided she's going to do the community service at the Goodwill morning she was supposed to start to take the dog to the vet and in a hurry so she had a pair of jogging pants on and hoodie when she went in to talk to the lady the lady called her in the office and overly more than once repeated herself about Heidi's cleanliness of the bodies to keep her sexual sexuality to yourself that cameras everywhere always going to be an eye on her don't talk to nobody no talk to no customers nothing this was very very snobbish like my friends kid was a disease or something and then kept saying well you can do all your hours real quick so you can get it so you can get it done like she was trying to hurry her up and get her out of there you know and that's just not okay with me nobody really goes into our Goodwill here because of the management and the way they treat you there and the prices and when people donate and they see that the stuff just gets left outside to ruin cuz they don't want it they just leave it outside or they toss it in the trash well there is a lot of people that need things that can't afford to go to the Goodwill there's battered women and children shelter they have to leave everything and and pull up and leave when they're coming out of relationship like that there's there's just people homeless that need jackets and coats and stuff and the Goodwill is supposed to be helping people but they won't give it to anybody else they just let it sit there or go let it go to the trash pump so animal animal rescue and we always taken beds all beds mattresses Linens freaking towels stuffed animals Toys you know Tupperware balls any of that stuff so I was told that somebody was up there at the Goodwill after hours they were closed and they was in the dumpster cuz they lost everything in the house fire and they were getting stuff out for their families their their children's clothes and stuff like that I guess the lady had the Goodwill one of them had left yet she walked out and was mad because the girl was in the trash and treat her like crap so what I'm asking you is if I can promise you give you my word and I'll go up there every night to make sure that everything nobody's trashing the Goodwill parking lot in the back and is it okay if people can get stuff out of the trash can as long as they're not in the trash can or they do it at their own risk knowing that if they get hurt it's not your problem and can I go up there and get stuff for take it to the organizations that that they could use it if you are not going to use it nothing will be touched by the door that's donated or in the donation boxes back there that's lock and key but the stuff that's left out there for a week or so there's just ruining beds bunk beds and stuff that little kids could use who have nothing can we have permission to help out the community how about people cuz this is just as ridiculous we are Americans we're supposed to help each other not not downgrading but is somebody because they lost everything and they're in the trash dump I seen the same girl in the Brookshire's trash don't get food for her children there that breaks my heart to have somebody talk to them that lady like that she's already shame I have to do what she has to do right now you can call and get back to me when in response to this thank you Dawn kravis I can if you want reassurance and stuff is going to need people in need I can have the organizations that donate to as well as my own organization write you up a letter to tell you what has been donated each and every time and it can fix it to you

Goodwill on Montgomery street, the the person at the front desk is very nasty and the lady who gives out. The assistance is a real big liar. 3 days she ran me around and I had just gotten out of the emergency room. The more information I provide her with the more information she says she needs.

They only take care of people after they get their friends and families out of the way I'm taking care of I used to give a voucher for $16 so you can go to the thrift store. I was told by the girl at the front desk on my gum street that. Oh, she can't give me any more about you. When I was told by the supervisor that every 6 months you couldn't count.

I need choose one because my toe was broken and the other 1 is best stopped due to a car accident. So now you can even get a voucher. And then when you do get the voucher which is much appreciate it. You can't even get a handbag what women?

Do you know that does not need a handbag? So now I understand that they will not give out any vouchers anymore. These people act like the Grant money Is theirs? What is the freaking problem?

I went to the goodwill on of a victory. And I asked for my senior discount and the woman was so nasty. I was in so much pain trying to use this voucher before it expires that I was given but forward by Christmas. And you know, in Richmond Hill, they're very nice.

They don't act that way, and this lady's gonna tell me when I ask Her for a senior discount, can she see my Di show her my ID? Oh no, you got to be 60 something they didn't sing at discount and oh if he was getting a discount. Any other way Richmond Hill. Oh I gotta call and kill them.

Who lives the cash here is out there that you're seeing just losing her rabbit *** mine. I told her you really sound very ridiculous. I asked her if I could just sit some small little things on the counter. Oh, what is the buggy over there?

I realized there was a buggy over there but if I'm having a pain and having a hard time then I just wanted. To not carry the stuff or push it. Like I said, these people have become very complacent. And it needs a serious overhaul.

They need to get their attitude together that money. It's not ther, it's grant money and it's supposed to be distributed fairly. And then the lady of Montgomery street. She lies and says I'm gonna be in a business meeting.

So I'm walking on my cane. And I managed to get in touch with the manager. And I ask for this particular lady who gives out the money and. She seems like she just will find a way not to help you oppose to help you.

But the manager took care of that. All right, she was like she is not in no meeting. Nor is she scheduled for meeting. So it just doesn't make sense.

And then they wanna treat you like. That then I could just imagine how they treat the people that is inside of the program. Last but not least, a few years ago I had a scooter that I had purchased cause. My car was down.

I was in the thrift Stuart. And I had the plan ongoing to a program that I was told about by a gentleman in the goodwill. So I pulled my Scooter around to the side of the building, thinking that it will be okay while I'm in the building. But guess what their cameras don't work.

And somebody did something to my scooter. But they don't have cameras that work. So it was no way to see who damaged my scooter, why it wouldn't run. Then I asked him if I could leave the school there overnight.

And I had a locked up and they said that I could. This is the Montgomery street. I have a concussion.

So I think I got my wife's cross with Salvation Army and goodwill. But goodwill is overpriced and I don't like the way that they do business

Resolved: I give them a bad rating because they mistreat employees that work for them. Bullying is not uncommon and a lot of blatant disrespect for older workers.

When you work for a company that receives their product that is donated and under pays their employees thats sad. You have to sort through donations that are horrible. Wet smelly clothes or you might get a bag of someones garbage. Then if you are unable to come in due to being sick they will count that against you. I had severe allergies dealing with mold and mildew . They dont care about your well-being. When youre no longer any more use to them then youre expendable.

Hello Goodwill, my name is Ike Bolton. I am an art student at CMU and was once a valued customer.

I'm writing this email to inform you of my displeasure that came from your establishment this afternoon. Here is my viewpoint of what happened.

My girlfriend and I spent today, 11/12/23, thrifting at your store, it was a very pleasant afternoon until we got up to the checkout. The cashier was very nice, possibly a new worker who wasnt used to checking out yet. Once we had scanned our items, a smaller woman in a black shirt, came out and talked sharply to the lovely cashier, telling them that they were supposed to check the price of a blender that we had grabbed off the shelf.

The lady then took the blender in a huff and went back to check it even though it had already been scanned. While she was in the back, a larger man with a white beard and black shirt came out and confronted us hostilely. He was claiming quite loudly in front of everyone that the shirt that I was wearing (a white Snoop Dogg plaid shirt which I had purchased from Walmart a month ago) was one that I had taken off the racks and was attempting to steal. My girlfriend and I repeatedly kept explaining that I had gotten the shirt from Walmart and that we didnt steal.

I also explained to him what clothing I had taken off the rack and put back because it wasnt my size or that I didnt want it. After which, he claimed that he had been watching us through the cameras the entire time we were in the store, continuously persisting that I was a thief in front of multiple customers some of whom I knew from class at CMU. After I was done showing him what I had taken off the rack and put back, he said fine Ill check again but Im pretty sure you stole that, to which I responded ok, go check . (I wanted to make sure they knew that I was not wrong).

He then came back a few moments later and silently and halfheartedly said, Im sorry. After the interaction, the store ended up not giving us any discounts for the hostility we experienced and continued to charge us $72.41.

Ive never been so insulted in an establishment, and I will never be returning to any Goodwills in this area. Along with that, I will be including the location of the establishment that I had this experience at. I encourage you to look into this matter and review your security footage, as well as the team in charge of supervising.

I went to goodwill with my husband just to look at a few things as we always donate to goodwill. Upon exiting the building there were a few items sitting outside the building, and we decided to take a look .

As I was telling my husband how lovely the item looked maybe we could go back in and purchase the item a young man by the name of Justin, walked out chewing his cud and started yelling at me YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE ANYTHING FROM HERE I said to him, i was only looking.. He then said well you are not allowed to look either.. I said there is no sign that says i can't look.. He then stated, well he will be calling the police if I don't move, and he will ban me from the premises..

Now as a valued customer i did nothing wrong I was only looking-at the items that were just placed outside by someone. i did not take anything.. I felt disrespected and embarrassed as other passer-by could he him yelling. I felt like he was insinuating that i was stealing something..

Mind you these item were outside the building. To visit an establishment such as Goodwill and to be treated like garbage is not what i expected..

Horrible manager and customer service. Poorly ran buisness, customers wait 20+ minutes in line while this lady yacks and doesn't lift a finger. Not sure what she gets paid to do, look at customers who have their hands full, long lines while she walks around and multiple other employees are walking around, horrible service
